A few weeks back the kiddo turned seven! wow how did that even happen?! I had promised myself that I would go all out this time for his Harry Potter Birthday Party, as one last hoorah before being a big brother and having to share us a little. To be honest I think I got reeaaaaaallllly into making it a super special day and spent hours making props and details to bring his Harry Potter Party to life.

A WEEKEND AT COUNTRYFILE LIVE WITH JOULES
I can't believe it's only been a few weeks ago that I was wandering around the delights of CountryFile Live Festival with Joules but it already seems like a lifetime ago. We have been non stop on the go from Blenheim Palace to the Scottish Highlands and then Greenman Festival in Wales celebrating Paul's 40th before collapsing back on the sofa two days ago. I think I'm ready for a nap! However I couldn't wait to share these pics from our weekend away with Joules as we had sooo much fun and I was really surprised how quickly we took to country life ;)

A NIGHT AT BRISTOL ZOO & OUTDOOR CINEMA!
We have long been fans of Bristol Zoo gardens, mainly because it was life line when I had an active toddler, what with the secure playground, endless wildlife and a big green space to picnic with friends. We were firm members until the kiddo started school and we found it tricky to squeeze in a visit in our over-scheduled weekends. So when the lovely #BlogClub got together a group of bloggers for a night at Bristol Zoo as part of their Friday Twilight event, Felix was the first to say yes!

FAMILY FUN AT DAVID LLOYD
Summer in the city can be tricky, especially when the latest heat wave had temperatures soaring above 30 degrees, leaving us all a little frazzled! So our trial family membership to David Lloyd, a leisure and fitness club, gave us the perfect way to cool off and make one kiddo a very happy boy.

MY MUST HAVE GLAMPING LUXURIES
If you asked me whether I was a camping girl I’ll probably say not so much, growing up in a city then thrown into the midst of the countryside as a teen, my parents were more partial to hotel stays then canvas shelters and so we never really did the whole great outdoors thing. However give me glamping and some little luxuries and I’m all ears.

GO GLAMPING IN THE UK? WE DID WITH READY CAMP
Fancy a night sleeping under the stars? Ever wondered what it would be like to go glamping in the UK? We decided to put it to the test with a weekend away with Ready Camp in Tamworth.
We arrived on site to be welcomed by the coolest safari style canvas tents kitted with everything but the kitchen sink! Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Felix’s face lit up when he saw where we were staying and charged ahead to explore our home for the night, getting stuck into making a den out of the bunk beds with the bedding we brought.

24 HOURS IN LONDON WITH NOVOTEL BLACKFRIARS
With the new school year beginning we thought it would be fun to squeeze in a mini adventure and soak up the last of the summer by spending a 24 hours in London with Novotel. We were invited to stay in one of my favourite locations along the River Thames, at Novotel Blackfriars hotel, just a few minutes walk along Southbank.

CAMPING READY STYLE WITH REGATTA & WIN TICKETS TO KENDAL CALLING FESTIVAL
As you know we are huge Festival goers and there's nothing we love more than relaxing outdoors, listening to music and hanging out with friends, plus it's so much fun seeing the kiddo run wild and free. You might remember our family adventures at End of the Road Festival, Just So and Wilderness Festival *good times all round*. So when Regatta Outdoors asked if I would like to travel down to Kent with a few other bloggers to get camping ready and style my site, I was totally game for some fun. 21 March 2016
A MINI CELEBRATION WITH RAMEN AT WAGAMAMA
Hanging out as a family in Bristol is ace as the city has so much to offer, with beautiful parks, cool kid hang outs and places to eat, it's no wonder F loves spending his time exploring with us at the weekends. We tend to have our weekday routines down to a T, what with F being at school, but last week we decided to break the rules and head out for a mini celebration with Ramen at Wagamamas as a treat.
F has settled into school brilliantly, and although there have been a few hiccups, we are so proud of him and how happy he seems. So when he received a certificate and award in school assembly, follwoed by a glowing parents evening, I wanted to take him out for a special dinner date and show him how proud we are of him. Just like me, F loves noodles and rice, if you ask him what he wants for tea it tends to be these dishes so when I realised that Wagamama was celebrating 20 years of Ramen, I knew it would be the perfect spot for dinner and he was thrilled when he realised where we heading.
F was bowled over that he got to have dinner out on a week night and excitedly got changed out of his school uniform for 'grown up dinner' and chatted all the way there. I tend to prefer the layout of a wagamama compared to normal restaurants, it feels cosy, friendly and a I like sharing long tables as I think it sets a good example to children, plus F love the special chopsticks!
We got cosy and ordered some dishes while F coloured in the kids activity menu, he decided to have the Chicken Katsu curry while I opted for the Chilli Chicken Ramen a.k.a full nutrition in a bowl and Paul tried a gluten free dish. It was delicious as always and I'm excited to see they've added two new Ramen dishes on to their menu, especially the seafood ramen!

After we filled our tummies with delicious food and admired F's paperwork, he tucked into ice cream and told us all about his day at school, while we sat back and looked on at this little wonder. It's so easy for life to rush by and miss how extraordinary it is, these little people learning and growing, and thinking what it might be like sitting at a table with him at eight or twelve, or perhaps meeting him for lunch at 22 *gulp*. I always wonder what he might be like when he grows up, but on nights like this I'm just feel grateful to watch his little face at five, content and happy, and excited by his special night out.

For anyone wanting to have a fun and easy dinner with little ones, I would definitely recommend heading to Wagamamas, not only do I love their dishes but it's great knowing the food comes out as soon as it's ready, so hungry tummies get fed quick!
*We were invited to dinner c/o Wagamama's but would happily eat there any night of the week as we truly love the food. All words and opinions are 100% my own.

10 THINGS TO DO IN LONDON WITH KIDS AT CHRISTMAS
We had such a great weekend in London that I thought I'd share my top 10 things to do in London with kids at Christmas – in case you're stuck for any last minute ideas. Some people think heading to the UK's busiest city might be a crazy family day out, but I really love the buzz and bustle during the festive holidays.

A FESTIVE WEEKEND IN BRISTOL WITH KIDS
Are you feeling festive yet? It's been a little quiet over here as December proves to be a busy month for us, and with clashing schedules I've been determined to make the run up to Christmas as special as possible for the kiddo. So on Saturday we decided to stay local and enjoy a festive weekend in Bristol with the boy. Every year, outdoor ice skating is high up on F's wish list –
As we wandered around the stalls before lunch, F took the time to enjoy the live music and show us his moves much to our entertainment. I love local markets, independent artisans selling their wares and a mix of fragrent spices and homemade mince pies, the sound of Christmas cheer. I was even able to pick up a few stocking fillers *yay*.

AUTUMN WALKS AND FALL COLOURS

As each season comes into play I happily announce my love for it, but nothing quite gives me that warm glowing feeling and fills my heart like autumn. The burnt ochres, reds and golden yellows fill the sky and pave the ground, crunching underfoot as F squeals in delight. Although this is the transition to winter, to darker filled days and low light, it does mean the excitement of Christmas will soon be setting in as well as hot spicy cider and mulled wine with friends *yay*.
At the weekend we took a walk, it's the same walk we take every year along the avenue of trees beside Clifton Down Road. I love this little stretch, I took the same stroll soon after F was born, him gazing up under the canopy of fall colours and autumn leaves. Now it's a rather more boisterous event with screeches of breaks as he zooms up and down on his bike, squeals as he runs to avoid thrown leaves and generally had fun as I gaze upon my growing boy.
My autumn wishlist for long walks are cosy boots, perfect for stomping through leaves and I love these stylish kids boots c/o Clarks. Even though they have a lace up front which makes him feel like a big boy, he can easily slip them on and off with the zip up sides, plus they're super comfy. I've already been coveting some of the women's boots and love these quirky Desert Boots and these slick Phenia Cresent boots.
F has started choosing his own clothes when we go into stores and it's interesting to see his style start to emerge without any input from us. He chose this zip up top from H&M and looks like such a dude in this pic!
As much as I love the outdoors I've been really feeling the need to bunker down and hibernate, to be close to home with slow walks for coffee, sit round friends dining tables and share good food, cosy sofa afternoons and general cuddles with my little one. In all honestly I've lost my mojo and been feeling a little down, like baby blues without the baby. I've been taking my time to just be and get all the busy out my head, so apologies that it's been so sporadic over here. For now I'm going to carve pumpkins, drink hot coco, take long walks, watch films, listen to music, get a bit crafty and enjoy the rest of the week before I have to hand F back over to the school timetable. In case you were interested in our style you can see what I wore here:
Yellow Coast Waterproof Jacket c/o Joules
Louche Aria Leather bag c/o Joy
And what F wore here:
Hooded Jacket - H&M
Day Hi GTX Boots c/o Clarks
For a little more autumn inspiration I've created a board full of ideas, interiors and moods reflecting the changing season. What is your favourite autumnal pastime?

WILDERNESS FESTIVAL WITH KIDS
You might have guessed that we're HUGE festival fans and every year we try to attend at least two with our boy in tow, in the hopes to create hazy summer magical memories that last a lifetime. A few weeks back we had the pleasure of attending Wilderness Festival as guests of Mamas & Papas as part of their #Shareoursummer campaign. We normally attend End of the Road and Just So Festival, so I was excited to see what Wilderness had in store for us.

We pitched up in the family camping area located away from standard camping, allowing us to be in a total kid friendly zone while still being very close to the main festival area and have easy access to our car – which is soooo handy when travelling with kids as you can leave spares of stuff in the boot rather than all in your tent. At night the campsite was quiet, perfect for little ones sleeping, and it was amazing to see how many families were there with tiny babies or young children running around making friends. Although no matter where we pitch I always seemed to loose our tent *note to self invest in a bell tent! The weather was so warm the whole weekend meaning I could wear my new gorgeous Esme Denim dress c/o Joules Clothing.
As with all festivals one of my favourite pastimes is the food and there was no shortage here! I've never seen such a variety in one place, from F's favourite Mac 'n' Cheese – let's take a minute to acknowledge his cuteness in the below pic – to gluten free specialists, burritos, Bhangra vegan American school bus cafes, fresh lobster street food, multi-coloured candyfloss carts, grilled and smoked meats, breakfast clubs, organic ice lollies and that's just the food stalls. If you fancy something a little more upmarket you can book a meal at one of the many banqueting tents, where fine dining and candlelit suppers are available. The Laurent-Perrier Champagne bar was certainly a big hit with me and I would loved to have tried an evening enjoying food prepared by one of the many award winning chefs but with a wriggly four year old we stuck to lounging on hay bales to enjoy our bites.

Situated on a larger site than we're normally used to it still felt quite small and not too busy and it was quite easy to navigate once you'd got your bearings. You can buy a guide when you arrive, which I would say is an absolute must as there is soooooo much to see and do and you can find all the timings and listing for everything over the weekend such as: music and live performances, theatre, talks and debates, workshops, shops, bars, cinema, disco tents, the hilarious sports area and the best commentator in town, well being fields and holistic tents, food stalls and restaurants and so much more. I loved all the market stalls and bizarre shops and oh my the GLITTER! What better way to hide those tired eyes and dark circles than glitter concealer, maybe this is the way forward. We also enjoyed lounging in the Canopy & Stars story tent where we filled bottles with dreams and lay on beds while stories unfolded around us in a theatrical performance.

How cute does F look in his cosy limited edition knitted cardigan c/o Mamas & PapasApart from seeing Bjork headline, which was quite frankly brilliant, my other highlight of the festival was taking F wild swimming in the lake, last year that I wouldn't have dreamt of swimming amongst reeds, but as I push myself to be brave and try new things I found the experience completely thrilling and even though it was a little cold it was such an amazing memory.

We had such a fab time and it's such a great family friendly festival that I'm know we'll be back again next year with friends. I mean it's not often you get to see a giant performing puppet with an opera singer attached at a spectacular nght light show is it? This is where magical memories are made!
Do you attend any festivals? I'd love to hear your favourite kid friendly weekend away.
