It seems the grey skies and winter chill has missed my memo for sunshine and spring vibes and I've been left to try and bring some sunshine into the flat with pops of colour. Call it a pink pick me up, but I'm really needing colour to get me over the weather right now, so when the I was sent two gorgeous Stellenbosch Phalaenopsis Orchids by Dutch grower Anthura, I grabbed the chance to introduce these unique pops of colour into the lounge and create a stylish plant gang. 6 February 2017

BLOGGER MEET UP AND A CLIFTON COLOUR PHOTO WALK

The great thing about the blogging world is the wonderful community of creatives that you can share your passion with, and yesterday I did just that. The lovely Laura from Cardboard Cities recently got in touch suggesting it could be fun to host a photo walk in Bristol. As I'm always up for fun, I immediately said I would help out and we pulled together a date and released it on twitter. The next day I was both equally surprised and thrilled to see that in less than 24 hours all the spots had been filled and we officially had a photo walk to plan!

Yesterday our plan came together and we met up with a fab bunch of ladies who had travelled from Wales, Bristol and Oxford to join in, and the weather could not have been more perfect. For those who aren't familiar with the concept of photo walk, it's pretty much what it says on the tin. We planned a rough route with some visually appealing destination points along the way and made some goodie bags filled with confetti, heart balloons, street chalks and other small pieces to have fun with. It was great to see everyone take photos, be inspired and network, and it's always great way to finally meet up with virtual friends in real life!

We created a #cliftonphotowalk hashtag for Instagram and twitter so people could see what we were up to and most of the ladies were sharing their day on snapchat too. We spent a good four hours out and about, and the kiddo even joined us for ice cream towards the end. Here are some of my favourite Instagram pics from the day.

You can check out more images from everyone's Instagram feed here: Being Little / Cardboard Cities / Candy Pop / Capture By Lucy / Golden Pulse / Hello It's Gemma / Mermaid Gossip / Oyster & Pearl / Oxford Rosie / Tigerlilly Quinn oh and me Wild & Grizzly
Go check out their feeds and follow them, they're a great bunch of ladies. We're hoping to do another one, as we didn't expect it to be so popular and we'll hopefully try a new location in Bristol to discover some hidden gems. If you're interested in coming along do let me know and Laura and I can send you an email when it the date is released. It would be lovely to see you there!

CURRENT CRUSHES FOR THE HOME // INTERIOR INSPIRATION
1. I really love the simplicity of this oak mirror with its soft curved edges and clean lines.
2. The copper trend doesn't look to be going anywhere soon and I think it really adds a special touch to your home. I love this stylish diamond copper pendant light *swoon*.
3. I found this stunning ceramic mug this morning while
4. When you haven't got time to be super organised, you can use one of these to beautiful grid baskets to hide away those unsightly plastic toys and create some calm.
5. Another trend that I'm totally crushing on right now is botanical prints and this Monstera plant poster would look great on any wall.
6. Another way to create calm in the home is to use fragranced candles, one of the great things about being abroad is all the new smells and I love this elderflower and lime combination.
7. Finding the perfect shade of pink to compliment the mint is easy with this geometric rug. I can't wait to have wood floors so I can decorate my floors with style.
8. No home is complete without an statement piece and this stacking Ercol chair, based on the original 1950's design, is beautiful. The mixture of elm and beech wood makes it the perfect Scandinavian shade.
What are your current crushes for your home?

STYLE IN YOUR CITY // COLOUR LOVERS
It's that time again for another Style In Your City post, which showcases your life and creates a community celebrating all the things you love about where you live. Over the last few weeks in the midst of chaos, I've been finding moments of calm by taking time to hang out with F and go slow. One of the best things about this city is how vibrant and colourful it is, you can really feel the energy as you wander and explore, and even though I love all the street art, I really love the colourful houses that make up Bristol's cityscape.

I really love how uplifting a bit of sun and colour can be, there's nothing like a morning stroll with the light shining down and a cup of coffee in hand to bring a smile to my face. It makes me wonder what colour I would have my house, would it be yellow and bright like the sun, dusky terracotta peaches, channelling Greek island vibes with brilliant blue hues or maybe softer pastel tones. INJECTING COLOUR INTO YOUR HOME
This is a guest post
It’s coming to that time of year – when wind and rain is replaced by crisp, sunny weather, when many of us begin to think about brightening up our homes. Especially as the nights are starting to get a little lighter and getting up in the mornings no longer seems such a chore.
Bringing the outdoors inside
Of course, the sun streaming through our windows can be deceiving as it’s not quite warm enough to spend longer than an hour or two outside (if we’re lucky!). This is when bringing a little of the outdoors indoors comes in handy. From pot plants to vases brimming with flowers, such as those available from serenataflowers.com, there are a number of simple ways to inject colour from the outside into our homes.
De-clutter
Months seem to merge into one these days, especially when you’re busy. Before we know it, summer will be upon us! If you’re planning on sprucing up the house in time for the warmer months, it’s a good idea to make a start now. Clearing up any unwanted clutter is a good place to begin.
If your table surfaces and kitchen counters are awash with paperwork, children’s toys, bags and books, why not take a day out of your busy schedule to rid them of clutter – swapping the mess for a beautiful vase of flowers instead. From orange tulips to pink tinged lilies, there are assortments of floral arrangements to choose from.
Adding a simple bouquet of flowers to a kitchen counter top or windowsill will instantly freshen up the entire room.
Colour coordinates
When redecorating, picking a theme is a must. Orange, yellow, pink and blue colours are all popular shades when it comes to adding a little life to an otherwise drab interior. Pops of colour here and there will suffice and the likes of floral centrepieces, candy coloured cushions, rugs and artwork are all effective yet pocket-friendly ways to spruce up our homes on a budget.
Adding colour and style to your home doesn’t have to be a chore, nor does it have to cost the earth. These simple tips will have your interiors looking fresh and new in no time.

PLAYING WITH PATTERN
So I thought I would have a go at creating a playful design for Direct Blinds 'The next Banksy' competition. I really loved the printed simple leaf motif I used in this post and thought I would recreate it on a mottled baby pink background using watercolour paints, and photoshop to repeat the pattern. I could totally imagine this complimenting a parisian kitchen or scandi-style bedroom with hints of pastels.
If you love patterns then checkout my Pinterest board for some inspiration.
