I've been really excited to share this collaboration as it involves some of my favourite activities...interior design, styling and a bedroom makeover! Yep ever since we told the kiddo he was going to be a big brother he's been asking to change his bedroom from a 'playroom' to a 'big boy room' and with him fast approaching Year 2 at school – eek – we thought it would be a fab idea to surprise him. So when Wayfair asked me to create a Back to School Bedroom Makeover the timing couldn't have been more perfect! Wayfair is definitely one of my go to online stores as it offers a broad range of homeware for every room in the house at a great value, including a great kids' range full of unique finds, just look at this bed!

WIN YOUR DREAM GARDEN WITH £200 AT HOUSEOLOGY!
Are you looking out at your garden and feeling like it needs a little love? Well then this is the post for you! After taking a long awaited visit to Versailles, yep you heard me right, that infamous grand French Royal Palace full of pink marble, manicured gardens and it's own boating lakes, it was quite disappointing to come home to our tiny flat *sigh* But there is a way to channel a little bit of luxury and create your dream garden with Houseology.
My Outdoor Spaces Pinterest board is one of my favourites to delve into, and with the promise of a new garden very soon I've had my eye on what makes a good social space. An urban garden has to work quite hard to tick a lot of boxes as it becomes an extension of your home, a place where you can socialise with friends or relax in an oasis of calm like these beauties.
I love good design in the home and there's no reason that has to stop there, whether you prefer the crisp clean lines of a contemporary garden, getting creative with your space or perhaps recreating a Mediterranean vibe, picking the right pieces is vital to your outdoor design.
I've created a little mood board of what I think we'd love to have in our new garden using natural stone coloured tones, greys and wooden decking. Although our place is a listed building so it might look a little different to this dreamy space.
I love the idea of an Urban design with a mix of contemporary lines furniture, a little nook nestled against a wall, festoon lights giving a soft glow at night and a fire pit to enjoy and socialise with friends. I think the Ethimo outdoor set would look indoors and well as out, plus the design is ace!

This voucher code is valid on items within the Outdoor category only; Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for monetary value; No cash alternatives to the stated prize will be offered. WHAT MAKES A HAPPY HOME?
A few weeks back I was invited to Hillarys new showroom in Bristol to meet Architectural Interior Designer and TV presenter, Oliver Heath, and discuss the benefits of a Happy Home. As a lover of interiors, I’m always on the look out for inspiration and learning how to create the ideal space using different design principles so I was excited to hear to attend.
I’ve always had a passion for interiors and styling, I think it was the years of watching my mam collecting wallpaper samples and pouring through the pages of various magazines. I can clearly remember the various design periods, each punctuating a portion of my childhood into chapters. Now that I’m grown and trying to carve out my own space/style to call home, I realise that my eye for detail has sharpened and I’m focusing more on not only what looks good but also what makes me feel good.

So It was fascinating listening to Heath discuss his thirteen principles to create a happy, healthier home: Social (social space, private spaces, community), Sensory (Biophilia, colour, light, sleep, acoustics, air quality) Sensible (Warmth & Bills, Storage, Work spaces, Security).

BEAUTIFUL SCANDINAVIAN STYLE FLOOR INSPIRATION
Now that exciting plans are afoot *pun intended* I am making many mental notes, taking pics and generally pinning like crazy beautiful Scandinavian floor inspiration. Think poured concrete, cool tiles and the lusted after wood floors that I've been dreaming off for oh so long now. Where people might coo and aah over plush furnishings, one of the first thing to get my heart racing is the floor beneath my feet and I can't wait to create a perfect space of our own.6 February 2017
CREATE A STYLISH PLANT GANG WITH POPS OF COLOUR
It seems the grey skies and winter chill has missed my memo for sunshine and spring vibes and I've been left to try and bring some sunshine into the flat with pops of colour. Call it a pink pick me up, but I'm really needing colour to get me over the weather right now, so when the I was sent two gorgeous Stellenbosch Phalaenopsis Orchids by Dutch grower Anthura, I grabbed the chance to introduce these unique pops of colour into the lounge and create a stylish plant gang. 26 January 2017

AT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Are you ready for Christmas? I must admit I've been going through the festive motions and it hadn't quite hit me until this morning, when the last of the food shop was done and I finally felt ready to relax into it all. We are at home for Christmas and I can't wait to see my baby's face light up with excitement when he wakes bleary eyed to see if there are any presents under the tree. We'll spend the early hours exchanging presents, Bucks Fizz in hand, Paul prepping some breakfast goodies for us amongst the sea of paper.

5 WAYS TO CREATE A SPA AT HOME
The downside of this month, apart from the constant jingle bells booming from every street corner, is how the pounds start to fly out of my account and the purse strings become incredibly tight. So when you fancy a little R&R it's easy to feel guilty indulging in self care *ah daydreaming of a spa day* Instead I thought it would be fun to make a little inspirational spa day that you can create at home. Think slow soaks, waterfall showers, burning candles the works *swoon* Look at these beauties!
Scrolling through bathrooms on Pinterest is becoming a bit of an obsession, probably because ours is tiny and I dream of the day I can design my own little hideaway. I think I've already planned the marble effect walls, poured concrete floor, with maybe a waterfall Grohe shower head and sleek bathroom mirror or something a little more elaborate. Yep picturing my own hideaway where I can sink into hot water without the kiddo interrupting is ace *sigh*.

| bathroom 1 / bathroom 2 |
As I'm not able to totally refurbishing our rented place, the think the easiest way to add that special hygge touch is to treat yourself to beautiful towels, scented candles, gorgeous bath products, sheepskin rug for your toes. Here I've put together bathroom hygge wish list of things that would transform it into a welcome retreat with these five tips on how to create a spa at home.
5 WAYS TO CREATE A SPA AT HOME
Candles & Incense
Yep it's not just for the movies people, these are a sure fire way to help you relax and switch off leaving your senses tingling with the soft flicker of candle light and soothing aromas to help you drift off into a zen like state. I'm loving these Candles and this gorgeous Incense holder.
Wrap It Up
Splash out and invest in a little luxury with a robe that will give you those hotel vibes and a spa like feel. There's nothing nicer than getting out of a hot bath and relaxing with a calming cuppa in a robe like this.
Treat Your Toes
Stepping out of the shower or tub onto a cold floor is totally going to kill the spa vibe so this gorgeous curly sheepskin rug is certainly going to make you feel warm and fuzzy *I have these all over the house as they are so super cosy!
All In The Products
Sometimes the budget brand isn't going to cut it when you want to feel good, and although your beauty and skincare products shouldn't cost the earth, it's good to shop smart. Try indulging in a clay mask (I use the red one and swear by it) or perhaps try an natural and organic brand like Green People.
Lux It Up
Sometimes all the mind needs is a clear uncluttered space to unwind in, so all sort out all those last minute snagging jobs or overflowing shelves in your bathroom so your mind can relax with a good book. Why not change your shower head for a waterfall one and try bring some plants into the room to create a botanical hideaway.
What little luxury is on your Christmas list this year?

HOW TO PUT UP A SHELF WITH STYLE

I always love looking through Pinterest to get ideas and inspiration when it comes to interiors, although I must admit to shying away a little when it comes to making holes in walls for anything larger that a print, although I do remember picking up a masonry drill to fix curtain poles once but *ahem* we won't talk about that... Yep I'm much more into painting, decorating, creating accessories and styling than walking round with a tool belt, but I always love a challenge and rarely say no.
So when British Gypsum invited myself and two other interior bloggers, Sarah Akwisombe and Jen from Love Chic Living, to check out there new Gyproc Habito plasterboard and style up a shelfie for a shoot they were doing I knew it was going to be fun.

BEAUTIFUL DIY CURTAIN TIES BACKS ON A BUDGET // INTERIOR INSPIRATION

Ever since I revealed my room makeover I've had some lovely emails and messages from you lovely lot *blushes and huge thanks!* and quite a few of you have been asking how I made my DIY curtain tie backs! Well as they only cost me the grand total of £10 for two, I thought I would share it on the blog with a little Make It tutorial. I really love the pale natural wood, especially against the grey, as I think it definitely adds a touch of Scandi style to the room.
They are so super simple to make all you need is:
• 6ft of grey suede cord or string.
• 2 x 2ich diameter wood beads
• 8 x 1.5inch diameter wood beads
• 4 x 1 inch diameter wood beads
• 16 x 1/3 inch (or 1 cm roughly) diameter wood beads
• Scissors
1 small bead (SB) / 1inch / 1 SB / 1.5inch bead / 1SB / 1.5inch bead / 1SB / 2inch bead / 1SB / 1.5inch bead / 1SB / 1.5inch bead / 1SB / 1inch / 1SB.
Once you have created your repeated pattern then tie off the ends, making sure you leave a loop for your curtain tie backs to fit onto the hook on the wall. Cut of any excess cord or string and then admire your handy work!
It really is that easy! It took me about five minute to make both and you can pick up the wooden beads in most craft shops – or Hobbycraft in the UK – and it gives a lovely finish to your curtains, creating beautiful wooden curtain tie backs on a budget!
Have you got any DIY home hacks planned for your home?

BRING THE OUTDOORS INSIDE WITH THIS INTERIOR STYLE
Now that summer is fast approaching my mind often wanders to lazy days spent outdoors, light pouring in through open windows, dining Al fresco and enjoying a drink with friends in a light dappled courtyard *sigh* but as we live in a raised hall floor flat with no outdoor space, I have to use my imagination for such things. However this doesn’t stop me from swooning over outside spaces, constantly scouring pinterest and planning my dream interior style to bring the outdoors in.23 May 2016
MY BEDROOM DESIGN BIG REVEAL WITH MAGNETIC PLASTER // PART THREE

It's been a long time coming but I can finally share my finished bedroom design big reveal with you and I am so excited to hear what you think! A little while back I was asked to design a space in our house using Thistle Magnetic Plaster from the British Gypsum's Rooms Made For You range and as our bedroom was a major dumping ground, I decided to create a dream space for us to enjoy. As you can see from the before pictures we hadn't done much to the room since we moved into our rented flat and it was generally filled with mix match furniture, stacks of stuff and general clutter.

MY BEDROOM DESIGN WITH MAGNETIC PLASTER // PART TWO
So you might remember from this post that we've been in the progress of doing a bedroom make over and installing some very exciting Thistle Magnetic Plaster from British Gypsum's Rooms Made For You range. After a few weeks of decluttering, ebaying, window shopping and a recovering kiddo, we've finally been able to get the plasterers in to apply the Thistle Magnetic Plaster *whoop*.
I rang around for a few quotes before deciding to go with a local tradesman D& J Plastering after they were recommended by a friend. What I hadn't been planning on was the crazy layers/years worth of paint on top of wallpaper! Eek. This meant that the walls had to be stripped first and taped before they could apply the plaster.

Thankfully it came off relatively easy and they got straight to work, priming the wall with this rather cool colour before mixing up the bags for the main event. The guys did a great job of sorting the wall out considering what a bad state it was in and they didn't even mind me snapping away over their shoulders.
The Thistle Magnetic Plaster is installed just the same as standard plaster, but to be in the safe side I sent they guys this information on it and the super handy video tutorial. They decided to do a 5mm coat rather than a 3mm as this apparently will make the magnetic power of he wall stronger, so I'm getting really excited about my final plans for the wall.

Rather than drying a typical powder pink this plaster goes on a dark grey colour and dries to a light grey, which is perfect for those of you who love the industrial look and are feel a little lazy when it comes to painting. However as I plan to go down the pale pink route and with me having no plaster knowledge at all, I'm glad they instructed me to use a part water white emulsion paint as a first coat once it's dried to seal the wall, before going full steam ahead with my colour.
I've had lots of fun sourcing bits and pieces – the Tiger store has been an amazing place to find bargains for the room – and I was thankful to talk to First4Magnets who were really helpful and giving advice on what type of magnets would work best on light fittings for the wall. They also make a great magnet selection pack with everything you need to get creative! I've been playing around with some of their strong magnets to attach some shelves to the wall *yay*.
So what have I been buying? One of the first things on my list was a Rubber Plant – I know right? Priorities ;) – I have been desperate to get one for a while and I knew that this would look great and give me the botanical vibe I was after.
I also received some large scale amazing prints c/o the fabulous online store Juniqe, here's a sneak peek at the large botanical leaf and palm spring skies prints. They are soooo cool I can't wait to show you when they're up on the wall.
We also decided to sell a few items of furniture in our room such as the: low side chest of drawers, tall chest of drawers, the random wooden box and washing basket, F's old ride on car and the even the Bed frame! We then used the money from to replace the furniture and keep in line with my bedroom makeover mood board, especially a new bed as ours was super old and in a bad state.
Now that the plaster is dry I've finally gotten down to finalising a colour to go up on the wall! I'm working with the wonderful Farrow & Ball and have fallen head over heels with Pink Ground, I can't wait to start painting, revamping some existing pieces and start styling the room. It's been so much fun and I can't wait to show you the results.
Have you got any interior make over plans?

SWEET TREATS WITH CORDELLO TRAY TABLE

Now that Easter is on the back burner for another year and the annual allowance of chocolate has been consumed, people might find their thoughts turning to healty eating ready for summer. Not me, well not yet anyway. After totally bi-passing the whole chocolaty affair due to one very poorly kiddo over half term, I'm looking for a different way to celebrate the sweet tooth and have fun with friends, giving me the perfect excuse to try out the Signature Collection Tray from Cordello Home and introduce some colour into my life.
When F caught an awful Flu virus and ended up in hospital after a five day fever of 39.6 and a chest infection to match, all our plans for egg hunts and Easter bunnies went out the window, instead the holiday was replaced with floor pacing, fearful tears and constant child monitoring. Now that he's thankfully home and very nearly back to his bouncy self, I'm looking for an excuse to entertain, have fun and and indulge a little, after an eleven days of elevated stress levels.
To be honest I'm keeping a little secret...I'm not a huge chocolate lover... I know right! Instead preferring savoury snacks and healthy choices, but when it comes to Macarons I find it hard to say no. Yep these sweet French little meringue-based cookies always make me smile with their colourful crunchy exterior and light as air middle, plus they are so super cute.
In fact I'm so tempted to try a recipe or two and create my very own alternative cream tea full of macarons, sweet treats that these Rocky Road and these rather fanciful Wes Anderson inspired Courtesan au Chocolat recipes have caught my eye.
As a lover of graphic design, the aqua tray with its interlocking hearts makes for some rather lovely eye candy and an alterative stylish side table, which is handy as I'm quite clumsy and the sofa could do with a little love. The 49cm birch wood tray filled with the universal symbol for passion is exactly what brain child Kate Shaw was inspired to share with her range of home products.
Our flat is often over spilling with F's things and they always seem to find a way to cover every flat surface in our lounge, and with our dining table feeling a bit formal to hang out at and our small lounge table situated on the other side of the room, it's nice to use this as an alternative side table on the sofa while sharing a coffee with friends. Plus when not in use it's makes an excellent display feature, creating a pop of colour against a minimal wall.
Now that F is feeling better I intend to build in a little me time, filled with fresh flowers, a good magazine, a freshly brewed coffee or two, maybe an earl grey or salted caramel macaron and a girly afternoon with friends.
Cordello are offering all readers a 25% discount across the site until 31 April 2016 using the code WILDGRIZZLY25 Enjoy!

2016 INTERIOR SPRING TRENDS WITH LOAF AND INTERIOR GIVEAWAY
So Spring is officially here *whoop* and hopefully the days of coat wearing and clunky boots are gone, and we can whip out our light weather wardrobe and hail the vitamin D gods. Not only does my style get swapped with spring, but often people use this time to give their home a little love with an annual spring clean. Yep a declutter, reshuffle and revamp will subconsciously be on your mind as you look to make your nest as fresh and clean as the new season. As a huge fan of interiors I've been excited to see the new 2016 spring trends come into play and how they transcend into the home. So I've been collating some fresh Spring Vibes with Loaf over on Pinterest and taking a peek at their new spring/summer range to see how you can make them work for you.
![]() |
Yep this season gives a nod to factory style and industrial design, bringing artisan crafted, wood meets metal into the heart of the home with purpose, like these gorgeous Pisa Shelves.
GREY TONES AND PERFECT NUDE PINKS
Colours are being stripped back to basics with the focus on beautiful form and soft palettes left to shout volumes, like this Grey Cashmere Throw, and if a bold colour creeps in then it will be a statement ceramic piece that grabs your attention.
MIX IT UP
This year will see old meet new with the mix of mid century, modern and rustic design sitting comfortably together. Where we previously towed the line when it came to our interior styles, 2016 throws them all in the mixing pot to create the perfect laid back look.

ART OF REFLECTION
It's time to bring in the light and celebrate spring, not only are large free standing mirrors making a play for space, but combining reflective surfaces into functional furniture looks chic and popular this season, like this slick side table.
MATTE FINISH
When it comes to metal, 2015 was all about the pure polished and high shine, but this year is taking a step back and keeping it subtle with the matte finish of brass, steel and iron taking centre stage, like this Toby Wall Light.
Spring always brings a sense of renewed energy for me and to help celebrate the new fesh vibes, the nice folk over at Loaf are offering one of you lovely readers the chance to win a gorgeous Blue Belle Throw. All you have to do is Pin It to Win It on your pinterest account and enter using the options below.

MY BEDROOM DESIGN WITH MAGNETIC PLASTER // PART ONE
You've probably read on more than one occasion, me sighing at the state of our bedroom. As soon as one corner is neatly displayed and totally instagram worthy, the rest immediately looks like a bomb has dropped due to it being our go-to dumping ground. But that is all going to change! Spring is in the air and the lovely people at British Gypsum have asked me to bare all *eek* and show you the reality of our space, so that I can design my bedroom using the Thistle Magnetic Plaster from the British Gypsum's Rooms Made For You range, and create the space I've always wanted. *Hurrah*
Using Magnetic Plaster in our bedroom make over is so exciting in terms of the flexibility it will create in the space, think movable prints, office mood boards, interesting lighting ideas, and oh my love of green babies hanging from wall planters *all the heart eyes*. After taking a little look at the British Gypsum's Inspiration Page and seeing how other people have used the wall to add shelves, create galleries and more, I was very keen to get started and begin my design.
As our bedroom is weirdly the largest room in the house, this certainly feels like a daunting task, but it's exactly the kick in the pants we needed to get on top of a space that is slowly growing out of control. For us the lack of storage plays a major part in things being stored/left lying around the room, creating a cluttered and chaotic space. So the first thing on the agenda is a good old fashioned spring clean.
OUR BEDROOM BEFORE
Ah the shame, it feels a little eek showing you the messy corners of our home, the ones that I like to hide away from the world, BUT I know it will feel good when I can compare these photos to the completed project and see the hard work pay off. So here goes, this is our room snapped just as it is.
The guy side, yep this is Paul's side of the bedroom and to be honest he is certainly the tidiest out of the two of us! So as you can see the wall has cracks where our current plaster is old and tired, the broken bottom drawer means we can't close the Ikea unit that is bursting with files and papers and desperately needs sorting through *a mega job in itself*, there's wires peeking from under the bed and a general dumping of mags and papers. Actually compared to my desk at the moment this is practically dreamy.
So here is my own instalife verses real life, you can see here a small corner of the mantelpiece that I've styled, but in reality the mantle is full of random bits and pieces, the floor has F's bag of toys, a toy car that he has outgrown and a random vase that seems to have been left out *hand up to that one*.
So here is the start of the mess, oh yes this is me and my small world of clutter. My clothes are spilling out of the drawers and they don't close properly, there are SO many prints stacked because I can't commit to hanging them as I change my mind so often *hello magnetic plaster wall*, an old bathroom wooden storage box full of baby clothes and general mess. Now on to the desk....
Oh how I dream of a minimalist desk space, functional, beautiful and pinterest worthy. Instead I have a huge desk perfectly situated to get all the light, but overflowing with stuff and taking up a lot of floor space. The one thing you can't see here is our rental curtains, they are brown and oh so ugly and I can't wait to replace them with something like this or this.
INSPIRATION
Whenever I have to design or plan a space the first thing I do is envisage the final look and work backwards from there. So for me making a moodboard is a must, I've been pouring over Pinterest for ideas and trying to pull a look together that will work well in the space and feel like us. Here's what I came up with: a mix of pale colours, cool features prints, interesting wall lights, rubber plant and succulents, big mirrors and interesting magazine storage. What do you think of my bedroom design board?
DESIGN IDEA
So I've decided to use the Magnetic Plaster on the wall behind the bed in the hopes we can easily display some cool prints, which we change depending on our mood. My other idea is to create some statement lighting either side of the bed like this stunning home make over from Cup of Jo, the lights in this bedroom are amazing! In theory any metal light casing can be held in place with the magnetic strips onto the plaster, meaning no need for nails or screws! Genius.
GETTING STARTED
• Empty and sort through drawers on Paul's side of the bed.
• Dismantle Paul's bedside unit
• Donate unwanted prints.
• Sell wooden storage box.

In term of colour and products I've been looking at pulling together some pieces from my favourite brands and I can't wait to share with you my progress in a few weeks time in the next blog post instalment. I'm excited to be working with British Gypsum on this renovation project and you can find out more about their Magnetic Plaster here.

FIVE DESIGN CHAIRS FOR YOUR HOME
Yes it's about time your derriere got the love it deserves and you treat your home to some eye candy. It's easy to side step the chair, instead choosing to sink into the softness of a sofa, but these beauties have caught my eye and have me thinking about a statement chair in our space, so I thought I'd share my must have five design chairs for your home.
1. I've had my eye on these gorgeous rattan chairs for a month now and I had to show you! Designed with a nod to the 1950's, these beautifully designed chairs and stools will look simple and stylish in any home. The strong iron legs are perfectly paired with the natural shades of the rattan and don;t you love the winged edges! How about a sheepskin throw to create a cosy corner?
2. These beautiful ash wood dining chairs stir feelings of nostalgia and childhood days for me and I love the clean minimalist and functional design. They are available in two styles, red for those who enjoy a pop of colour and fun, or a more neutral grey for an understated slick look, either way I think these are fab and would look great with a chunky knit blanket draped over the top, sat by a window with a pile of magazines ready to read ;)
3. This gorgeous new kid on the block is the brain child of Berlin based furniture company, EJAY. The Beam Chair, inspired and designed around the steel T beams of the Golden Gate Bridge has proved to be a hot topic amongst the design industry this year and although you can buy direct from their site, you have to enquire how much this little piece of San Fran will set you back *eek*. For me this is pure design at its best and they would look fab in any home.
4. Another design chair that has caught my eye is the work of Norwegian designer, Andreas Engesvik, with this beautiful blush over sized cushioned Bollo chair. Looking like it has been plucked from the set of a Wes Anderson film, there is something quite feminine and inviting about this design, the contrast of the striking slim line legs with the welcoming padded fabric that wraps around the whole chair creates a statement piece and is available in a range of colours. The Bollo chair is available from stockist of Fogia, and if you fancy some eye candy head over and take a peek at their look book *swoon*.
5. Ah one of my favourite retailers have pulled another winner out of the bag with this beautifully crafted and sophisticated design, which pulls inspiration from the infamous and talented Harry Bertoia and his mid-century iconic wire framed chairs. The Hamburger chair in Linen is gorgeous and a fab twist on a design classic, both timeless and affordable for your home.
What do you think? Do you have a favourite chair at home or is it all about the sofa love? I honestly don't know which is my favourite, but I could easily house any of these beauties in our flat and sit awhile ;)
*This is not a sponsored post, just sharing the love.
