I love entertaining at home, having friends and family come over to stay and enjoying the space I’ve created. Currently we rent a two bedroom flat and I always dream of having a spare bedroom for guests to stay over in comfort, but until then we tend to room swap, letting guests stay in our bedroom or using an air mattress in the lounge (not so ideal). However I wanted create a cosy corner that is beautiful, functional and welcomes our guests.
It’s great to give your spare room that hotel vibe; a decanter of fresh water, a stack of good reads, slippers, robe and a their own towel. So in an attempt to make the most of a spare room/space I thought it would be fun to try my hand at making a Pinterest worthy DIY wall hanging to frame the essential guest must haves.
It took less than half a day to make this DIY yarn wall hanging and it looks so cool against the dusky pink wall and huge rubber plant. Plus you only need these few items to get creative:
Two different shades of merino wool/yarn.
A pole (you could also use a branch).
2 different sized hoops/rings (I used gold to compliment the grey yarn).
3-4 wooden large craft bead.
scissors
clear tape
I teamed up with Harveys Furniture to show you how to make the most of your spare room with this DIY wall hanging and you can find the easy to follow to steps here.
Do you have a spare room? What are your essentials when planning for guests? Do you have any top tips?
