When I was a child, our kitchen really was the heart of our home, my mama would always be pottering around, making fresh coffee or whipping up delicious dinners, and often I would sit on the doorstep chatting to her while she was busy. I always loved being outside and this way I had the best of both worlds, breathing in the fresh air while staying close to her in the kitchen.
Often when I think of a home for my kiddo, I wonder what memories I would like to sew and which will take hold and flourish. I would love to see him in a space that allows him to move freely between the outdoors and inside, to share moments sitting crossed legged on the floor, deep in conversation over crumbling cookies and little belly laughs.
Whether it’s folding doors or slide and swing doors I long for a space that enhances the light, while keeping us warm and transcends the seasons. In an ideal world I would create a space with Architectural Slimline sliding doors, that create a sleek modern look and oozes cool, perfect for city living and making use of both indoor and outdoor space.
Here are some stunning spaces for inspiration. I love how the room flows between the living space and outdoor area:
Do you ever sit and dream of your perfect garden? Are you planning a renovation?

I love this idea too. We have patio doors leading out to the back garden from our kitchen which is nice in summer but I would love to do something on a grander, more architectural scale one day. xx
