STYLING THE SEASONS // JANUARY

styling the seasons money plants and goldstyling the seasons january style

This first month has flown by, it seems that time passes quickly if you're not paying attention to it and so I find myself looking onto February wondering where these last 30 days have gone. Before January melts away completely I though I would sneak this Styling the Seasons post in. I've been so busy sorting/decluttering the lounge and kitchen that once again the bedroom has become a dumping ground, and it seems the contents of our lives are in constant circulation of this space, being moved systematically from one room to another.

To be honest I feel a little weary as we approach the end of this month, rather than pushing through the constant busy, I feel like packing up and dancing barefoot on a beach feeling the warm sun...hmm maybe I have got the January blues.

nature in the home interior stylingI found this beautiful scandi-style candle holder in a charity shop, it was looking a bit sorry for itself so I brought it home and cleaned it up. I've since learned it's from Ikea – good old Ikea – and you can find one similar here, just perfect for keeping rings and jewellery on. I also got these vibrant pink ombre candles from Butlers to add a bit of warmth and colour, and hopefully help ease away these January Blues.

I've kept this seasons styling super simple, bringing together fresh greens with a nod to winter months with these dried hydrangea stems, and I couldn't resist a touch of gold to compliment the grey marble surface.

To get involved all you need to do is share your photographs of your styled surface on any day this month – use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or your blog, if you have one. Please tag Katy and Charlotte and use the hashtag #StylingTheSeasons. You can also search the hashtag for styling inspiration from the other wonderful bloggers and creatives who are taking part.

So there it is, my simple January style. How have you found this month?

Love your styling and so hear you about clutter constantly circulating around the flat; it is a constant battle. Look forward to seeing you next week xx

  9. Beautiful pictures. So far I've been decluttering rather than picking up new things for our home, but you've inspired me to get on down to the charity shops - there are some great things there at this time of year.
