CHRISTMAS TREE LOVIN

Red christmas star on top of tree
It's here and I couldn't be more excited. I love getting a Christmas tree, it's one of my favourite traditions by far. As a child we had an artificial tree and as lovely as our decorations were I always longed for a real tree with the smell of pine needles, bringing a bit of nature into the home.

As soon as I moved into my own place no matter how small it was, I would find myself dragging the biggest tree I could handle home to decorate. I would spend the evening slowly unwrapping all the ornaments that I have collected over the years and spending a little extra on personalised baubles, adding them to the tree one by one until it is time for the star. Then with a flick of the switch the lights go on and just like that it's Christmas.

Homemade paperchain decoration on treeWooden reindeer nordic christmas decorationThis year has been slightly different, with Paul working away so much the idea of lugging a huge tree home while trying to contain a four year old's excitement has been a daunting thought to say the least. Thankfully Pines and Needles came to my rescue and delivered our rather beautiful Nordmann Fir tree direct to our door with no fuss.

The tree comes with a stand which you can fill with water to help slow down any wilting that might occur, and Pines and Needles use their own delivery service which ensures the tree arrives without any damage and you get a friendly call letting you know it's on its way.

F is super happy to have the tree all decorated and full of twinkly lights and now I can't wait to see his face when Father Christmas has delivered his presents.

You can use the code WILD14 to order your own beautiful Nordman Fir and receive a free gift of Holly, Mistletoe and a mini Christmas tree – everyone likes those.

*We were gifted our tree for review purposes - thank you tree gods who knew I couldn't carry one home with F - all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
