As you probably know I love interiors and good design, and while I've only hosted Christmas dinner once I love throwing a good party, whether it's the wild ones from my younger years or a more civilised sit down affair, so getting into the festive spirit I decided to dress my table for Christmas and have a few friends over for some feasting.
So whenever I'm out I love to keep my eye open for pieces that would work well on a table and oftern buying the odd thing here or there. After a trip to Copenhagen I fell in love with this mug which I was served coffee in at the Kunst Museum, when I got home I tracked it down and promptly shipped some over.
For me it's all about the details, I love to add those extra touches that make your guests feel special. For this table I have gone for cooler colours channeling a scandi vibe choosing pale blues, whites, greys and silvers.
I used this rather beautiful antler from the wonderful Bouton to create a dramatic centre piece, some wooden stars from Hobbycraft, and this rather fetching glittery silver christmas tree candle which I picked up from TK Maxx in their Christmas shop. I would definitely recommend a browse there as you can pick up some real bargains.
I layered the plates and used some foliage to dress them, as well as adding some foil confetti to the table to make it fun. I also added some Jaime Oliver wine glasses and vintage grey smoked glass tublers for water, I only wish I had a good decanter.
What do you think? What would be key on your table? Below you can see my Dress Your Table board for inspiration.

I love the colours! I swoon for cool colours! I'm especially fond of that porcelain deer? I'm a sucker for woodland creatures!

ReplyDeleteOh I love everything you have here wish you luck in winning. It's definitely a winning look to me. I think you should be the table decorator for sure. Love how you brought it all together with such great little accents. It's all about the accents. The folage on the plates so creative and love the grey neutral hues here. My kind of table.
