AFFORDABLE ART FOR YOUR WALLS

Image via here

I love having art in my home, whether they are prints or paintings, illustrations or photography,  I think there's no better way to give your space personality. I have gained quite a collection over the years, to the point where I have a pile of unframed pictures in the bedroom which I've not got round hanging.

Having great art on your walls is something to consider when decorating, it can inspire you, uplift your mood, transform a room, express your personality and be a great talking point. Choosing what to hang in your home is another matter.

1. What space are you working with?
2. What size should it be?
3. Should I choose Colour or Monochrome?
4. Should I hang a single picture or a collection?

Although there's lots of questions to think about when choosing a piece, the fundamental rule is that YOU have to love it, especially as you'll be seeing it most days. Often it's difficult to have access to a lot of different artists work so when I recently discovered New Blood Art, an online art gallery showcasing a carefully curated selection of original work by exciting artists at affordable prices, I was excited to see what they had to offer.

There is a huge range of work and prices allowing the art to be accessible to most, and what's great is that the Company Founder Sarah Ryan visits each degree show herself, looking for the next talented emerging artists who's work will appreciate in time. By doing so it allows you to buy original artwork as an investment when it's at its most affordable.

I already have my eye on a this painting and this photo, I think they would look great on my wall.

*This is a collaborative post but all words and opinions are 100% my own and I love that New Blood Art supports emerging artists.

  2. I love original art, such a unique thing to have on your walls, and if you are lucky it can be an investment too. I have just commissioned an artist friend of mine to do a piece for me and I cannot wait to see the results!

  3. Sounds and looks like New Blood Art are doing a fantastic job at showcasing new talent. We have very little artwork around the home, unless you count the children's but it's definitely something i am interested in using when we eventually get round to redecorating. xxx

  6. I use my own photography, I buy mismatched frames, spray them white and blow up some of my travel photos :) I love the motel though, it appeals to the adventurer in me!

  12. We have a couple of forest-themed artworks in our house, and they're my absolute favourite. You've got me thinking - a good piece of art would make a wonderful gift....

  16. I have some artwork on my walls that I really love. I have been considering about using some of my own photographs for art in my home but I'm not yet there.
