So the weekend before last we decided to go slow. We woke up with books in bed, sipping hot tea and F bouncing into our room, taking our time to get dressed and ready for the day. We wrapped presents and walked over to our friends son's birthday party where we ate cake a plenty and sat on the floor, watching the youngest child practise her walking skills before heading onto lunch in the village.
We were invited to Zizzi Bristol to try out their new menu, I love the restaurant in Clifton Village with it's huge mirror tiled walls and huge pizza oven. We got stuck into delicious garlic bread and olives, along with a cheeky vino while F busied himself with the important job of colouring in the menu.

As soon as F's margarita pizza arrived he got to work with the toppings which came in pots, having fun creating a friendly face before tearing off a slice and digging in. I settled for a super chicken salad all the while eyeing up Paul's Rustica Picannte pizza board which was huge and meant I could steal a slice or two. It was a lovely treat being able to take our time, enjoy great food and let F get creative, not to mention his delight at the popping candy covering his Zizzi Bambini Cones, I mean that's what weekends are for right?
A super happy F left with a full tummy and Zizzi balloon from his new best friend – a.k.a the waiter – and we wandered down to the local garden centre so I could pick up some succulents and cactus soil for my beloved Aloe Vera before making our way back home. Sometimes all you need is to stay local and avoid the rush.
As autumn starts to slowly kick in I can see myself making time to de-clutter the flat and create a cosy bolt hole, so whatever adventures I seek, there is always the comfort of home.
We were invited to try Zizzi's as family and the food was wonderful. All words and opinions are my own.
Oooh Zizzi's never fails in my eyes - we have only ever had delicious food and friendly staff to boot. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend and beautiful photos as always :)
