"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014."

F: tiger tiger.

Just as some weeks are quiet and slip by unnoticed, these last seven days have been long and hectic, with events punctuating the days and distorting time. Looking back over all my captured moments it's hard to choose one image to sum up the week. We have been in Bristol and London, I have been juggling work deadlines and childcare, family time and me time, as well as some steps to overcome my flight phobia. So this corner of the internet has taken a back seat while we've embraced the day to day. To make up for the silence I have some exciting posts this week, including: DIY Pom Pom Garland tutorial, weekend adventures, Kids Fashion and more Festival fun.

The one constant theme of the last seven days is F's wild side, at the moment I'm finding my feet as he challenges me in the day to day. The normally chilled child is becoming very assertive in his own right and navigating this phase is trickier than I imagined, reminding me that motherhood is one big learning curve.

  8. i never had my face painted when i was little. i guess by him being a bit more boisterous now it gives you time to learn and adapt, but at the same time like you say ..it's going to be a learning curve.

  15. He makes one of the best tigers I've ever seen. My two year old Bea is really asserting her will at the moment. I should get her painted as well as she's pretty growley at the moment.

  16. I have an assertive one too, it's hard dealing with sometimes when the only word she seems to say is NO!

  19. He looks great! Love the face paint! Hope Action Flight phobia is going well. It's so hard being a parent. As well as "phases" mine are all just so darn stubborn (no idea where they get it from! ;-) ). x

  20. We are in that phase with my three year old at the moment - very testing and challenging but it is a sign of them developing their own personalities. Love his tiger face
