DESIGN HOTEL IN AMSTERDAM // PART THREE

Design hotel in AmsterdamWild & Grizzly and Amsterdam Street ArtHotel V Nepslein Design Hotel in AmsterdamTime flies when you're having fun and making exciting travel plans, and I've realised I haven't shared the final stint of our fab Amsterdam design hotel trip with i-escape with you. I love looking back over our adventures and remembering all the fun finds and exciting eats, you can read our first day and second day here. After a very relaxing sleep in our design bolt holes, Hotel V Nepslein situated in the theatre quarter of Amsterdam, I was very excited to head down for breakfast and sample its delights after seeing how popular the restaurant was the night before, but nothing could have prepared me for the surprise I got as we made our way to our table!

As I entered the restaurant, its interior dressed with heavy velvet backdrop curtains and vintage posters encompassing a subtle nod to its theatrical location, I had to do a double take as we approached our seats and realised I'd walked past my old university flat mate and his girlfriend enjoying their breakfast. What are chances! It was great to bump into Oyvind and catch up, turns out they were on the beginning of a romantic getaway and I was excited to be able to recommend things to do on their stay.

The breakfast menu is served from 7am till noon allowing you plenty of time to make your way downstairs and enjoy what's on offer. I chose the Granola served with yogurt from a local dairy farm and clover honey, while Paul chose Eggs Florentine, and because our eyes were bigger than our bellies we also treated ourselves to a Charcuterie Board loaded with pate, sausage, pickles, spinata and cured meats. All of which was delicious and each plate will set you back around £10 per head.

We had a few hours to wander round before making our way to the airport, so we took the time to explore Amsterdam's infamous Nine Streets, one of city's most delightful shopping areas. Lined with cafes, boutiques, art galleries and design shops it was easy to while away time although it's worth noting that most of the shops open late on a Sunday or not at all.

After grabbing our cases and heading back towards the train station, we said a heartfelt goodbye to this beautiful city before boarding the plane back to our boy.

*We were given a complimentary stay at the Hotel V Nepslein with i-escape as part of this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
