Now I'm in full house mode I've been looking at ways to spruce up our sofa and hide the multitude of F mishaps that have appeared over the years. I've lost count at how many times I've turned up at the dry cleaners, clutching sofa covers decorated in crayon or spaghetti in the vain hope that they can perform the impossible and make it as good as new *news flash* apparently they can't.
Now that F is no longer a baby or a sticky fingered toddler, whose sole purpose in life seems to be focused on touching every part of the sofa while covered in chocolate or peanut butter, I am thinking that now might be the time to upgrade. Yep I could use throws and cushions to spruce it up and hide all that lurks beneath and I do, but I still know it's there, plus any excuse for sofa window shopping has to be a good thing right.
It's no big secret that I have a crush on Habitat, I've always been a big fan of their design, functionality and fun approach to creating stylish interior spaces, which is why you might spot a few pieces in our lounge such as this Tripod light which I love. So I though I would share some of the designs that I'm lusting over right now, after all a girl can dream right.
I totally love the fabric on this Italian made 3 seater Chester Sofa and we've had our eye on the solid oak three door Max Sideboard which would be a great place to hide all our mess, plus it would look great with lots of fresh flowers on top.
Our current sofa is grey too so it makes sense that I am drawn to the grey sofa's available, I think there are so many ways to style it, especially with pops of colour such as this orange cushion. I love the arms on this one as it would be perfect to rest a tray on with coffee and a book, and if it hasn't got wide arms then one of these bamboo side tables would look great too.

I bought the cheapest sofa bed I could find when I moved in 6 years ago and it's still going strong. I'd love a revamp in my home but the material that my current one is made from hides a multitude of sins.(I too have sticky-fingered children and the odd crayon mishap!)
ReplyDeleteI love Habitat chairs, they're my big weakness. Oh, and the sofas. And lighting. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI just love the style of everything in Habitat! It is so hard once you are in a Habitat store to leave!! I love the first photo of the sofa, it looks so comfy :)
ReplyDeleteI adore habitat and pretty much always have. I have a real love of Mid Century
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sofa in the second to last photo - I badly want/need new sofa's but we're waiting until we move house so we can get something that fits into whatever space we have there!
ReplyDeleteMmm Habitat always gets it so right doesn't it!? I still miss our local store when it closed down :(
ReplyDeleteI love habitat and these rooms are just gorgeous. Love the grey sofas :) similar fabric to ours but a different style, very nice
ReplyDeleteI have an old hand me down sofa that is on it's last legs. I so need a new one!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of sofas. As I am getting older- I prefer sofas which recline to allow me to dose on them!! And leather ones as they are easier to wipe clean.
ReplyDeleteOh i am in the sticky fingered toddler category.
ReplyDeleteSo we have a beautiful white leather sofa in storage ready to be unleashed as soon as our little girl becomes tidier!
I can see beautiful throws and cushions strewn over it from Habitat x
I have just ordered new sofa's. They are grey and I'm just choosing the wallpaper now, I have samples galore!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my kids grow up and I can get nice new sofas. Mine cost a fortune when we got our first house four years ago but with three small children it is safe to say they are looking a little worse for wear!
ReplyDeleteThe grey sofa looks SO comfy! I'd really love one like this, but in our current flat there is no space for it - hopefully we'll soon be moving somewhere where I can fit my dream sofa :)
ReplyDeleteI like that max sideboard a lot!
ReplyDeleteI love Habitat too and also have bought a lot of our furniture from the Ardingly Antique & Collectors fairs over the years.
ReplyDeleteOooh this hasn't helped my wanting a new sofa lately...! Great pieces- I never think to look in Habitat for furniture- I just remember having to trudge there once a week in my receptionist job when I left uni to pick up uber cool stationery bits! x
ReplyDeleteI love habitat too! But...I didn't know they were still around...there used to be a huge shop in my nearest town but it's not there anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have long been in love with Habitat too. I have so many things from there. If we ever move I would definitely choose some of the newer styles they have in this season. A grey couch is a must in my eyes. hahah Great choices. Happy decorating babes!
ReplyDeleteI love Habitat too, they always have something that is just perfect, stylish with a hint of retro quirky - perfect for my taste!
ReplyDeleteI love that lamp in the second photo, that is brilliant x

ReplyDeleteI'm a massive Habitat fan, unfortunately their furniture is too big for my house though! I'm currently addicted to interior / design inspiration posts on pinterest though! xxx
ReplyDeleteI plan to upgrade my sofa when my kids have grown and Baby isn't a baby anymore. Until then I cover the stains and scratches with throws.

Oh I do so love Habitat. I spent the 80s and 90s skipping in and out of there but haven't seen a branch in the longest time.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are great.
Liska xx
My son isn't that young anymore (10) but accidents happen with children. And we have pets. So, it's something that would show the accidents very easily and that isn't easily destroyed for the next few years for me.
ReplyDeleteI love Habitat. Tom used to be a manager at the Bristol one so we have lots of their older items in our home. Some lovely designs x
