LONDON FUN // A WEEKEND IN PICTURES

Last Friday we packed up the car, locked up the house and headed down the motorway, London bound, for a family get together to celebrate our niece turning the big ONE. F was super excited and pretty much chatted all the way there in the back of the car, while I slipped off my shoes and watched the rain clouds roll in.

After an impromptu stop off in Chiswick where I caught up with an old university friend, we took our weary selves to new Novotel hotel in Brentford, where we stayed free of charge courtesy of Paul's big bro. I was really impressed with the hotel, although there is no tube within walking distance, the hotel has a sleek contemporary design, great food, and a pool and gym to help you start the day fresh. F had a brilliant time exploring all the comforts of the hotel and taking a rest in the suspended chairs.

In the morning we sat down for breakfast to an array of cereals, fruits, yoghurts and breads including my favourite, a delicious sourdough and rye, and filled ourselves up for our day of fun. We headed over to Paul's sister's house in Ealing where the garden was awash with beautiful butterflies, garden games and pegged photo's of the birthday girl. The day went smoothly with presents, cake and a wonderful BBQ, which slowly turned into an evening of toasting marshmallows and sipping wine curled up under the nights sky. The big one was a big success.
