A GOOD BOOK // The Bear's Song

It's Christmas Eve. The toddler excitement in our house is at an all time high in the anticipation of Father Christmas. F has new pj's and this good book for this special bedtime.

The Bear's Song is a gorgeous seek and find large format book, filled with stunning illustrations so detailed that there is always something new to discover in its pages. Papa bear wakes early from hibernation to find his little bear has gone on a honey hunt, chasing after a swarm of bees. We follow the bear as he travels to the bright light of Paris where you can peek through the windows at the bustling city life, people partying and romancing coupes. The lush illustrations whisk you to the theatrical world of opera, where the bears hijack a theatrical performance with a soft lullaby or possibly a ferocious roar. The story ends under the stars on the rooftops of Paris as the bears sit together under the stars, feasting on honey. F has requested we read this tonight and I like the idea of him dreaming of adventures under the stars while he's waiting for Santa to arrive.

December's Good Book posts are sponsored by Foyles Bookshop but all words and thoughts are my own.
