OUR STAY AT THE MERINO APARTMENTS IN LONDON

With the Christmas countdown now on I've been planning fun adventures and family festivities for the kiddo to enjoy and even though we've just stepped into December, the weekends are flying by. So with a sparkly weekend of magic planned, last Friday evening we headed to our home away from home, with a stay at the Merino Apartments in London.

Now when I say home away from home, I'm not kidding, as the word apartment doesn't quite cover this luxury boutique serviced three floor house. Yep these 5 star luxury serviced stays are nestled down a small cobbled mews in the heart of Bloomsbury, where every detail is designed to make your stay as relaxed as possible.

After sat nav successfully directed us through central London *high five all round* we were greeted by Andres from the Merino Hospitality team, who happily guided us through the amenities while F squealed with delight on finding a special surprise room on the top mezzanine level.

The design is an eclectic mix of modern meets luxury with a hint of fun. Previous guests were involved in the interior design of this latest addition to the Merino collection and where this could have ended in interesting interior mash up, the team have used the suggestions to create a beautiful calm space that is seamless throughout. I loved the modern glass stair panelling that creates clean lines running throughout the house and even enjoyed the oceans and forest feature walls that create a fun space to sleep.

We felt very lucky staying at Orchard Way, where the thoughtful welcome hamper full of treats, a fridge stocked with the essentials and the high tech mod cons such as: underfloor heating, rainfall wet room,  Sonor sound system, HD Smart LED TV with Netflix, rain sensor Skylights and sensor LED lights throughout, allowed us to relax in style once F was finally tucked up in bed.
After our drive we were so tired that we ordered Wagamama takeout via the Deliveroo app (I totally recommend this to anyone as it's so easy to use and available in most cities) opened a bottle of wine, sat back and chilled, which is the beauty of this property. Unlike a hotel stay with kids, there is no hiding in the bathroom as you wait with baited breath for them to fall asleep, no suitcases full of toys needed due to the magic of the secret kids play room with changing mood lighting and Lego. Nope this is the real deal, a homely stay in the heart of London.

After a night of bed hopping due to a wriggly F, we woke refreshed to brilliant blue skies and a full day of busy ahead of us, and on finally convincing F to leave the playroom to get dressed, we made use of the stable doors, opening up the lounge onto the mews and enjoyed a coffee before wandering  to Russel Square less than a minute away.

Even though we had lots of treats in store, F really wanted to spend the whole day at the apartment. Later he got his wish, as we drove on the motorway Bristol bound we realised we'd left behind his bear, yep not any bear but the bear a.k.a the teddy I had as a three years old. Cue screeching of breaks and a change of direction as we turned back and rescue F's faithful friend. Andres was SO so helpful and trekked across London to meet us so we could retrieve our teddy, much to the relief of a tear streaked F and a very grateful mama.

The service provided was nothing short of five star throughout our stay and this would make a perfect pad for those wanting a personal touch of luxury or a homely night in the city. As it sleeps up to four adults and the addition of a sofa bed it could easily be shared between two families.

*We stayed as guests of Merino Hospitality and would like to thank them for the wonderful stay and stellar service. As usual all words and opinions are my own.
