AT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

Are you ready for Christmas? I must admit I've been going through the festive motions and it hadn't quite hit me until this morning, when the last of the food shop was done and I finally felt ready to relax into it all. We are at home for Christmas and I can't wait to see my baby's face light up with excitement when he wakes bleary eyed to see if there are any presents under the tree. We'll spend the early hours exchanging presents, Bucks Fizz in hand, Paul prepping some breakfast goodies for us  amongst the sea of paper.

This year I have had so much fun decorating the flat and general festive faffing, in fact I think the tree went up on the first weekend of December full of sparkly lights and our cherished ornaments. As our tree is blocking the fireplace in the lounge I decided to make the most of our mantle in the bedroom, so F wouldn't worry about Father Christmas dropping in. I chose a gorgeous gold Sunbeam Mirror and pale pastel colours to compliment the Farrow & Ball paint, plus I love the stocking and this cute Christmas Tree print from Juniqe.

I went with a simple silver paper star for our front door combined with crazy tinsel door, much to F's amusement, as he keeps trying to escape the flat just so he can go through it! Normally I ban tinsel and foil but Paul stepped in and stopped me from being a mean mama and I'm glad he did.

I also picked up this festive jumper to keep me in good spirits *love a good pun* and will be packing it with me as well as beautifully wrapped presents, when we head over to Paul's family. Oh and I'm pretty sure I have already eaten my weight in mince pies, so I'm looking forward to a bit of a post festive detox.

We always try to host Christmas drinks for our block of flats and even though we ran out of time with our hectic schedule this year, we're planning on having some pre-NYE fun at ours *think practise for the big night itself. In preparation I've set up a little mini bar area at home, think cosy cushions, cute decanter and a few choices of tipple. One day I'll have a gold mini bar but for now this little corner definitely does the trick and I love how this poster highlights the space.

Typically we'll do a Christmas Eve buffet full of my favourite festive party food as we always travel over to my folks house for the dinner with all the trimmings, but I can't wait for the day when I can host everyone for fun, chaos and laughter, until then I'm content with our small festive table at home.

I'm going to take a little break for Christmas so I can be present with family and friends but I can't wait to start 2017 on a high with some exciting new projects planned. So here are a few highlights from this year to keep you going:

So until then I hope you have the most wonderful festive holidays with your loved ones and friends, and it is all Merry & Bright. Much love Lx
*Thanks to my go to store for prints, Juniqe, for the festive decorations and Decorelo for the swoony mirror.
