STYLE IN YOUR CITY // ISLAND LIFE

It's that time again for another Style In Your City, which showcases your life and creates a community celebrating all the things you love about where you live. I think this is definitely my favourite image from Instagram from the last fortnight due to breathtaking views captured by Amanda. My post pick was by Marmalade Pie, I really loved hearing how this link up inspired Lizzie to pick up her camera and see her city through fresh eyes, even in the rain.

I have had a few people ask me whether they can join in with this link up even if they don't live in a city, so to embrace the wild and prove that even nature has it's own amazing style I thought I would share a glimpse of Island life.

At the weekend we made the drive north and over to the west coast of Wales, Anglesey to be precise, which is a little Island just off the northern most tip. Paul used to holiday here as a child and now that he has family living there, we thought it would be good to show F.

The weather was bit of a wash out, with lashings of rain and gales hitting the island, but thankfully it stopped long enough for us to explore Newborough beach. I love the sea, with many of mychildhood  summer days spent at my nanna's house across from the beach, for me it always brings strong feelings of nostalgia and I love seeing F on the sand.

I spent my time combing the shore for shells and playing tag with the waves as they rolled in, while Paul tried to teach F how to skim stones. For me this weather worn landscape is beautiful, the way paths are woven in the dunes, the tall pines that grow right up onto the sand, even damaged trees ruined by a storm have a wonderful architectural feel as they jut of the sand.

Nature has it's own style, whether it's the amazing colour combination of flowering blooms, the surface of a rock face, a winding river or a treasured collection, it is there to explore. So whether your a city loving dweller like me or a wild outdoors type, then if you spot something you love use the hashtag to show us your find.

So how does it work?

We would love it if you wanted to link up and join in with 'Style in your City'. We want you to hunt down what catches your eye and shouts style to you and it could be anything: colourful buildings, street art that catches you've spotted, fashion your loving, art you've seen, fab patterns.. We'll pick be showcasing our favourites on our blogs each fortnight. We're running this as a bi-weekly feature and you don't have to have a blog to join in or live in a bustling city for that matter, simply use the hashtag #styleinyourcity on twitter and/or IG with a photo and tag @wildandgrizzly and @tigerlillyquinn.

You can find me on Instagram here and twitter here.
You can find Fritha on Instagram here and twitter here.
