I have a love of all things stylish, those beautifully designed items that tell a story and with so many amazing independent kids wear labels to choose from, there's never been a better time to step away from the high street. So in celebration of all things gorgeous I wanted to share one of the hottest new labels to emerge from the world of kids fashion. If you like good design then you'll love Diapers & Milk.
Please can you introduce yourself and what you do?
My name is Leia Sfez, I am mother of a little brunette, India, and I founded Diapers & Milk in 2013.
What inspires you?
The everyday life inspires me, but especially my daughter.
When and why did you first realise you wanted to start your own fashion label?
The day my daughter was born. I told myself that I needed to create something great. I was putting her only in leggings and it was impossible to find leggings in France with designs that I liked. I started to create single pieces for my daughter using my own designs. My husband then pushed me to commercialize my creations, and he was right!
What does your typical day look like?
Between the hours passed preparing beautiful packagings, commands, going back and forth to the post office, the Inbox mails to go through, the wed design/marketing part, attending meetings and of course the often coffee at our seamstress, our days are fully booked! A typical day is from 9am to 10pm, and sometimes including Sundays, and we sincerely love it!
Where would be your design destination and why?
I would say New York. My husband and I fell in love with this city when we went for our honeymoon, one day we want to move there.
What are you reading at the moment?
Canada - Richard Ford
What are your top kids fashion labels to watch for A/W 2014?
I love the universe of Wolf & Rita!
Paris is a city full of hidden gems, what has been your favourite discovery?
This year I discovered two beautiful streets of Paris, rue des Thermopyles in the 14ème and La Villa Leandre in the 18ème in Paris. Two hidden streets that I love.
Where would you like to see yourselves in the future?
In fact, anywhere, but with 3 or 4 children and my husband!
