"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014"

F: His curiosity and love of trains seems endless and silence falls as he stares out into the moving world. Oh how I love him so.

This weekend we enjoyed the simple things: freshly brewed coffee, baked pastries, windy walks, good food and the company of friends. As January rushes to a close, I am on a mission to sort out my diary and get organised. There are planes and trains to book, people to see, events to attend and deadlines to meet, eek it's all sounding a bit busy already.

  6. I still love simply sitting on a train and staring out of the window now, even at the age of 30! Sometimes the simple things are the best :-)

  10. We love the train, which is good luck as we're often relying on it. "silence falls as he stares out into the moving world" - a beautiful line and one I can identify with.
