A GOOD BOOK // Mr Tiger Goes Wild

Occasionally the day to day can get on top of you, the same routine, the same places and all you want to do is break free and run wild. Just for one day. If you want to break free from boring take a look at this good book.

The first time I set eyes on Mr Tiger Goes Wild I knew we would love it. The striking graphic illustrations are captivating and beautifully laid out across the pages, while the story encourages you to follow your dreams. This book tells the tale of a tiger in town who feels like he doesn't in, his friends don't understand him and he can't hide his urges anymore. In the first page we find him standing before us as everyone moves around him, until he dares to stand down on all fours. Mr Tiger steps away from the binds of society and heads for the jungle where he can be himself and roar. But will he miss his friends? Is there a way to have a balance between the wild and home? A great way to explore the concept of instincts and self belief to children, even as adults we find it hard to believe in ourselves and trust the decisions we make are right. This is a great book all round and perfect for any child's bookcase.

December's Good Book posts are sponsored by Foyles Bookshop but all words and thoughts are my own.

  1. I love the illustrations, they're gorgeous. Mine are too big for picture books now, sadly.

    1. The illustrations are great aren't they. I secretly prefer kids picture books to adult books so will probably keep buying them once F has outgrown them ;) x
