A GOOD BOOK // Now I Am Big!

As F appetite for stories becomes more ferocious I sometimes feel a little sad for the books that he has already outgrown, whether it's because the stories are not captivating enough or because it belongs in the board books section of a shop. Then our friend sent us this good book and now I don't feel so sad.

Now I Am Big is a book I would have readily jumped at buying a year ago but would most definitely have hesitated buying for my now three year old. How wrong was I! Although this book is probably more suited to a slightly younger audience, the beautiful retro graphic illustrations and craftsmanship of this board book makes it a timeless classic to be enjoyed by all ages. The story is simple and short using gentle rhythm to explore the idea of growing independence, celebrating being just that little bit bigger. F likes to look at the pictures and talk about what he can do now and ask questions of what he was like as a baby, and when he wants to pick up a story with a bit more flesh to it, this book looks great displayed in his room.

You can also enjoy I Know A Lot! and I Can Do It Myself! in the same series for a great stocking filler.
