A GOOD BOOK // Pandamonium at Peek Zoo

F loves his animals and can name a ridiculous amount of species for an almost 3 year old. I am often being corrected and whether it's a Mandrill or an Ocelot, the boy seems to know his stuff. Luckily Bristol Zoo is a stones throw from our flat and our annual membership card is well worn (as are my shoes) from our twice weekly visits.

When we realised that the long-awaited Mr Peek was making a return with Pandamonium at Peek Zoo we were delighted. F jumped with excitement on it's arrival and there were a few moments of 'mine' before I was actually allowed to hold it. We headed to the zoo book in hand, found a trusty bench and cracked open the crisp pages. The quirky illustrations leapt of the page immediately and the charming storyline of an escaped baby panda heading for the lion's den was a thrill to little ears, ending with a banana peel and pull out animal parade.

After reading the book (twice), we set off to see whether the penguins had really escaped, or to check what colour the tortoise's shells actually were, allowing F to bring the story to life.
